MORE THAN A RECYCLING COMPANY

Repro-Plastics Canada is dedicated to producing post-consumer regrind (PCR). Our products include, but are not limited to: rPET, LDPE Repro, and HDPE. We take pride in exporting over 30,000 tons of plastic every year, worldwide. Our clients benefit from below-market prices thanks to our strategic relationships and our shipping volume.

PET

Prolyethalene Therephthalate

PET, short for polyethylene terephthalate, is a plastic resin and a form of polyester. Polyethylene terephthalate is a polymer that is formed by combining two monomers: modified ethylene glycol and purified terephthalic acid.

PET is the type of plastic labeled with the #1 code on or near the bottom of bottles and containers and is commonly used to package soft drinks, water, juice, peanut butter, salad dressings, oil, cosmetics and household cleaners.

PET is a popular package for food and non-food products. Manufacturers use PET plastic to package products because of its strength, thermo-stability and transparency. Customers choose PET because it is inexpensive, lightweight, resealable, shatter-resistant and recyclable.

LDPE

Low-Density Polyethylene

This type of plastic can be identified in many products we use with the resin code, or recycling #4. LDPE is primarily used in film applications, but it could also be used to produce flexible lids and bottles. Its toughness, flexibility and relative transparency make it good for packaging applications that require heat-sealing.

Customer also choose Low-Density Polyethylene to make many thin, flexible products like plastic bags for dry-cleaning, newspapers, bread, frozen foods, fresh produce and even  garbage. Most shrink-wrap and stretch film is also made out of LDPE, as well as coatings for paper milk cartons and disposable beverage cups. Manufacturers also use LDPE to create thin container lids, squeezable bottles and some toys.

HDPE

High-Density Polyethylene

HDPE is a polyethylene thermoplastic made from petroleum with a #2 code and it is typically found in milk jugs, plastic bags and refillable plastic bottles. In addition to plastic lumber and recycled plastic furniture, recycled HDPE is used to manufacture lawn and garden products, buckets, crates, office products and automobile parts.

HDPE plastic has several properties that make it ideal as a packaging and manufacturing product. It’s stronger than standard polyethylene, acts as an effective barrier against moisture and remains solid at room temperature. It resists insects, rot and other chemicals. Recycled HDPE creates no harmful emissions during its production or during its use by the consumer. Also, HDPE leaks no toxic chemicals into soil or water.

PP

Polypropylene

Polypropylene is a plastic polymer labeled with the resin code #5. It is used both in industry and consumer goods and can be used as a structural plastics and as a fiber. Polypropylene is often used for food containers, particularly those that need to be dishwasher safe. This contrasts with polyethylene, another popular plastic for containers, which has a much lower melting point. Polypropylene is also very easy to add dyes to, and it is often used as a fiber in carpeting, which needs to be rugged and durable, such as the carpet one finds around swimming pools miniature golf courses. Unlike nylon, which is also often used as a fiber for rugged carpeting, polypropylene doesn't soak up water, making it ideal for uses where it will be consistent;y subject to moisture.

PVC

Polyvinyl Chloride

Polyvinyl chloride is used in a variety of applications in the building and construction, health care, electronics, automobile and other sectors, in products ranging from piping and siding, blood bags and tubing, to wire and cable insulation, windshield system components and more. Vinyl is versatile: it can be as rigid as industrial pipes, as pliable as plastic wrap, and as thin and flexible as wall-covering. It can also be completely clear or matched to any colour desired.

Because it is strong and resistant to moisture and abrasion, vinyl is ideal for cladding, windows, roofing, fencing, decking, wall-coverings, and flooring. Vinyl does not corrode like some building materials, does not require frequent painting and can be cleaned with mild cleaning products.
